Lena Murisier is an award-winning writer with a number of TV series’, feature films and documentaries at various stages of development and production. Recently, Lena was in the Writers’ Room of the BBC, BAFTA-Winning, Emmy- Nominated series SECRET LIFE OF BOYS to edit storylines and punch up jokes. Additionally, she co-wrote & co-produced the movie A GIRL LIKE HIM sequel to A GIRL LIKE HER (2015, Netflix) with six-time Emmy & Tony Nominee Tovah Feldshuh (THE IDOLMAKER, KISSING JESSICA STEIN) and worked closely with Emmy Nominee Zachary Quinto (STAR TREK, MARGIN CALL, HEROES) on her documentary
TAKE US TO CHURCH.
Lena was raised by a single parent in a multicultural home: her grandfather was born and raised in Africa; her grandmother was a painter. Lena grew up in a small town in Switzerland where the Chaplin World is located. Before moving to Los Angeles, Lena was an Account Manager at the well-established Agence Trio where she worked on national advertising campaigns such as “No to No Billag” in support of the 21 local radio stations and 13 regional television stations and on a comprehensive Online Platform helping the population easily understand the Swiss healthcare system.
While storytelling was always a big part of her life, Lena first wanted to become a Formula 1 race car driver, but the lack of representation in the sport pushed her to write about it instead. She is fascinated with true crime, always has a book in her hands, and religiously partakes in Taco Tuesday.
Lena speaks and writes in English, French, and German. She is originally from Switzerland, where she made a career in marketing and advertising. She moved to Los Angeles in 2018 to pursue a career in screenwriting and graduated from the New York Film Academy of Los Angeles.
Lena’s screenplays and short films have won many festivals and contests. She has several projects in production, post-production and different stages of development.
